Riot Rats are the heavy infantry of the Technorats faction. They are more heavily armed and armoured than regular infantry but require more resources to produce and can’t manoeuvre as quickly. They are kept in the breeding vats for longer then most Technorat troops and so are larger than their kin. This results in a loss of higher brain function due to the saturation of the fertility chemicals used and so are relatively simple minded creatures when compared to the generally quick-witted Technorat army. Cybernetic enhancements are actively being developed to counter this, but more time is needed. Riot Rats each carry energy shielding and an auto shotgun meaning they can deal tremendous close range damage to lightly armoured units while reducing the damage they themselves take from frontal fire.
