Focke-Wulf FW-190D

The FW190 was one of the Luftwaffe’s two primary fighter aircraft during WW2, the other being the older Bf109. When it first appeared it proved to be superior to the fighters used by the allies at the time and it has since become regarded as one of the best fighters of the entire war. The D variant, pictured here, had a longer nose in order to accommodate a larger engine for high altitude operations, which was where the FW190 lost a lot of its performance.
